Rights Radio.com features Sun Protection Clothing for Women, Men & Children – My interview with Coolibar Executive VP Mary Mills Barrow
Topic: How sun protection clothing can reduce melanoma and skin cancer risks and help prevent visible signs of aging.
Coolibar: Once your skin is deeply etched and aged by the sun, there is relatively little you can do about it, short of expensive laser surgery. Sunscreen lotions provide important protection – so long as sunscreen products do not contain harmful chemicals or ingredients. Children can do little to defend themselves against lasting sun damage if their parents don’t educate and don’t care.
Guest: My guest is award-winning author, Coolibar sun protection expert Mary Mills Barrow. Mary authored three books (two for children: Sun Protection for Life; Pretty Prom: Your Skin is Pretty Too; and Lake Vacation. Sun Protection for Life is written for the general population – parents/teachers, outdoor workers and baby boomers.
This interview is a featured segment in Skin Protection Series.
On a previous show, we shared medical insights re the importance of sunscreen in melanoma and skin cancer prevention.
Now Mary Barrow sheds crucial light on skin protective clothing, including the benefits of sun hats, sun protection bathing suits, sun protection shirts and sun protection skirts. She explains why sun precaution is as important for teenage boys as teenage girls and at what age parents should start clothing their children in sunwear garments.
