Interview Highlights:

George Will believes that if we can’t see the end in sight in Afghanistan, more lives, more money will be lost at too great a risk. On the other hand, we have very strong national security interest in ensuring that we don’t have a pro-Taliban regime in power in Afghanistan as we did on 9/11.

President Obama launched a surge in Afghanistan, while turning his back on Iraq. We must decide whether the present government is Afghanistan is worth supporting. Secondly, we must make headway in dealing with Taliban sanctuaries in Pakistan – which means that Pakistan must move effectively against the terrorists.

President Obama spent only 10 minutes with President of Pakistan – one of our 4 or 5 most important allies. This is a case of misplaced priorities. Hollywood celebrities and sports teams are less important that critical relationships with critical allies.

The President has not yet explained to the American people why he wanted a surge in Afghanistan and why we should be backing Pakistan now.  Nor has he made it clear that we will not tolerate a corrupt regime in Afghanistan

Moral at the CIA is at rock bottom today. Congress rarely criticizes itself but is very quick to condemn public servants that put their lives on the line to defend this country. Amnesty International and others cry crocodile tears for those who caused the death of 3000 people on 9/11.

The Attorney General named a special prosecutor, presumably with plans for criminal charges for whatever lapses may have occurred. The President was too cute by half in stating, “that’s my Attorney General, not me – I’m only looking at the future.”

The day may come that the entire future of this country depends on such information. Are we going to say, “We really can’t hurt this guy’s feelings.”

The President abrogated his leadership role to radical elements in Congress.

Young CIA officers are now told to obtain the name of a good lawyer, because Congress will be second-guessing their actions.

The ACLU John Adams project has taken photos of alleged CIA officers and interrogators and shows them to terrorist in GITMO so they can bring action against them.

Livingstone is a familiar face on the nation’s newscasts as a commentator on terrorism, intelligence, and national security issues. He’s a veteran of more than 1300 television appearances, including such programs as “Nightline,” “Meet the Press,” “Today,” “The Early Show,” “Crossfire,” “Newsmaker Sunday,” “The Charlie Rose Show,” “Hardball,” “Dateline,” “The Newshour with Jim Lehrer,” “The O’Reilly Report,” and the evening newscasts on all of the major networks.

He served as an on-air commentator for NBC News during the Atlanta Olympics and in the aftermath of the Oklahoma City and 9/11 terrorist attacks. Dr. Livingstone predicted the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center on CNBC six months before they occurred, said the terrorists would drop both towers, and that Osama bin Laden would be behind the attacks.

He is the author of nine books on terrorism, security, and foreign policy, including Inside the PLO, The War Against Terrorism, and Rescue My Child, which was an NBC movie-of-the-week.
