Great website about Condos in Florida.

  2. Charles H. Foster says:

    Dear Dr.Starr,

Our Condo Board member holds the position of board secretary. She is abusive to elder condo owner and the members have been refused an audit of the condo funds. None of us are happy, and she is always to argue and fight about anything and everything. She shows favoritism to a couple of people that back her. It is soooo bad here that you don’t want to leave your home for fear. Special assessments for new roofs that are not needed, boat lifts put in with violation to Lee County Permit office. Cert mail is thrown away. Florida condo board commission has always failed to do anything as they have no real staff and are 150 miles away. At best a letter that actually does more harm than good. She enjoys a fight anytime / anywhere. I swear my wife and I would move but I would not feel right selling to someone at my address. Violations of condo laws don’t mean anything. It seems like we are all stuck with a living hell. Regards Charles Foster

    • Dear Charles,

I understand your frustration, but you are not stuck. You can and should run for the board. If “everyone” is upset, then there must be overwhelming opposition to the board – a ripe environment to replace one or more members. Give it some thought.
